❤ LOVED him! I played, once upon a time, long ago. Everyone says fairly the same thing, which solidifies what I have known since the early 1990s, which is that Steve Riley was a dear. He appreciated everyone. My Chicago's South Side pal, Chip Z'Nuff @EnuffZ'Nuff, Steve Riley, and I were good acquaintances, but more Riley and Chip, for being in the biz, and one being bass and the other being drums. This was our little clique. Riley, (Steven) Adler, Tracii (Guns) and I are Aquarius, & Tracii and I share a birth date. Riley, Adler and I are drummers, but they are/were more than I. Chip is a Virgo, and Virgos tend towards Aquarius for our nonchalant vibes, where Virgo is more concrete or statistical--opposites. Steve Riley's passing took away a drummer and an Aquarius from our little clique. There's one other of the clique, but he's a local WI musician. Riley liked being part of it, although it means nothing. It was just our little thing. Now I remember whose stick that is 😊 I have had a drumstick for years that I kept because someone gave it to me, but I couldn't recall who. I didn't have Riley sign it because, well, I am a drummer, and because of our little clique. Now the stick is back to meaning something to me, and the little clique. "It's Over Now" R.I.P., Riley 4:45 PM CST

Like many other bands...and based on what I have read about their situation...it seems like the issues with Ratt started when the money started coming in. Bobby didn't really write... So while other guys like Warren and Stephen were getting writing royalties..Bobby was only getting performance royalties...and there is a massive different between the two. It makes sense that during the period that this interview was recorded, Bobby was the one pushing to tour.... He most likely looks at it like a job. Which it is...and everyone needs to make money to survive. .It sucked to see what was essentially a Ratt cover band performing...but I do understand what was driving it.

What breaks my heart was that Operation: Mindcrime was never given it's due. This album is one of the GREATEST, if not the Greatest Rock Concept album. I would put it up with the top 5: Sgt Peppers, The Wall, Tommy and Quadrophenia. The second Mindcrime album was just as fabulous. I'd love to see the band get together and either turn the albums into a broadway musical or a full release movie.

I never liked this guy. He's the one who contributed the least to the sound of Ratt and he has the biggest mouth. He has no right criticizing any of the other guys in the band. Ratt wouldve been just as big of a band had it been anyone else in the band drumming. Heck, they probably wouldve been better off without Blotzer from the beginning.
